Ask..Ask & Ask people around u who have got done their wedding videos from different videomakers & then decide …don’t go by name ..go for reputation…what style they make, how sincere they are what equipment they have ,when they deliver videos …when selecting the videographer what u should be looking..it depends upon someone’s particular needs ..r u looking just the video coverage of event or u r looking for a nice edited & well shot product which is interesting to watch …do u have a good budget or u just have a tight budget for all those things so it depends what u r looking for…there are many people working on the videography & photography.Some people have it as their full time jobs …some are the part timers & some people do it as a hobby & u will even find some people working in this field after retirement in their 60s or even 70s…but it’s u who have to decide who is going to the job for u..

Budget is the most important to many people in these financially hard times when we are going through recession…so u want to save money but at what cost…your day is not going to come again..recession will get over sooner or later…but again if budget is your only priority , keep in mind that most of the times u get what u pay for…because i am sure whoever is doing a good job & who knows what to do is a professional & a professional videographer will charge u a decent sum just like other professionals in other fields charge u.
i always invest money in latest equipment thus providing the very good quality to my client .i provided my first bluray disk almost 28months back while most of our competitors are getting near to that now..our equipment cost..editing time …if u take all that in account u will understand that it cost to get the quality job done.
to date i have the best equipment available than my competition..
75% competition is part timers…I care more of my business because this is all i do for living but for most people out there it’s only one part of money making…so whom it will be more important is anybody’s guess…
Talk to people around u ..your friends..research & if u think video is important to you spend some more…
hello world…i am new to blogging but hopefully stay long hereafter…
for long i wanted to write about wedding videos…is it easy producing those videos or it’s tough..i wanted feedback as well from other like minded people….looking forward to a interesting topic within the community of wedding video makers & people who had experience getting the video done or those who are looking for a video production company…i would love to spend more time on video editing..but when u have to deliver a 14-15 hour wedding video on 10 to 11 dvds..it just does’t seem possible..i would love to do weddings where i have to deliver 60 to 90 minutes of edited video but then this does’t seem possible too because our weddings are much different than western weddings where mostly it’s one day affair rather than our’s where often our weddings are three to five days…moreover the budgets are not that much where u can shoot for five days & then edit for next three weeks…that means i only do one wedding a month…saying all that i just means to say that it’s not that easy to produce wedding videos than it looks
well what else i can say that how occupied your mind is when u do wedding videos…i am returning to the blog update almost after a year or may be more…so was i so busy…yes or no…this might not apply to everyone …but i would admit..it does apply to me…i am so much or should i say my mind is so occupied by this work that i never find it easier to get time for other things which requires me to put pressure on my mind…as i am not a regular writer who is fluent with writing…i have to be mentally free of everything & then can take up something like this…i opened this blog few times & approved some comments…& so far i have 896 comments on this & i am sorry to say i could’t read those all..but in next few days i will …thanks all for reading this…so am i free these days..no i am still busy to some extent…writing blurays of last summer wedding videos & editing some videos…yes u might be amazed but some people (they might know me personally or don’t know me personally….it just does’t matter when it’s work because once they paid u the good friends are more tough customers than the other customers)are still asking to make some changes in last year’s videos….because in this business some people think that since u have charged them they have the right to ask for it on their own will , when ever they like it,regardless how much time had passed of their video shoot & let me tell u guys…i am losing my hairs…just got diagnosed with arthritis…already have high cholestrol…(hope i am not giving my medical history)not that i am a super maker of wedding videos & stress my self so much on the making …it just comes…& on top of it ..think of doing this in Alberta, Canada.where u don’t find people to work with because they don’t want to take stress…they prefer to work something else & not ready for this kind of stress…& let me confess , i am not a lenient guy to work with …i work hard & i expect the same from the guys who work with me …because we are working on the projects which are dream projects of couples getting married……& how i can explain that how my heart just stops editing videos when some time i find some important clip missing…& i can’t explain the relief i get when i find that clip…& always that very moment one thought passes off my mind….when i am going to leave this work….yes i am working eight years here in this business…& would say i don’t want to grow more in terms of more & more work…yes i would like to grow..as a technical person…i am happy with the work i am getting …i want to do some quality work & don’t look forward to do the quantity ..i don’t want to get over busy & let me confess hearing that many stories of heart attacks these days does’t support the idea of over work with wedding videos…again i would say ..if its just money for u …of course it means more work more money but when u have to work yourself & deliver that many videos .. i think more people who work themselves will agree with me….well i will write some more later on..bye for now
